Dancers at WSD participate in at least two performances each season. Tickets are required for all audience members, and are available for sale through the studio prior to the performance or at the theater door. Nutcracker
Each winter we celebrate the season with a holiday themed performance that includes a Nutcracker ballet. Preparation for the performance begins in October, and interested ballet students will receive information about the production at the beginning of the school year.
Spring Recital
Our annual spring recital in June marks the closing of the regular school year. Required costumes for the performance are ordered from outside companies in early February. Performance participation is not mandatory, however all students enrolled in classes during the months of January and February will be included in this costume order unless notice has been given.
Payments for costumes are due by March 15th and are the property of each student after the performance. Due to the non-return policy made by costume companies, WSD will also not offer any refunds or credits on individual costumes. Costume selection for the spring performance is the decision of individual instructors under the direction of the artistic director.

Washington School of Dance Jazz Companies desire to promote and recognize young dancers with performance opportunities while instilling self-expression, confidence, esteem, and professionalism. Comprised of dancers ranging in age between 7 to 21, WSD Jazz Companies are committed to technical excellence in Jazz, Hip-Hop, Lyrical, Modern, and Classical Ballet.
